Research/Editorial Assistant | The American Institute for Cognitive Therapy

The American Institute for Cognitive Therapy is looking for a full-time research/editorial assistant that will assist the director in writing and research projects. The ideal applicant will have experience in formatting manuscripts using APA style, conducting literature searches, and basic understanding of SPSS. Furthermore, the applicant will also assist with marketing, website maintenance, office operations, and scheduling intakes. Therefore, it would be ideal to have administrative and customer service skills as well. See below for a list of responsibilities. This position is ideal for someone interested in pursuing graduate school in psychology or social work.

  • Research/Editorial:
    • Manuscript Editing
    • Literature Search and updating EndNote
    • Scoring intake packets
    • Data entry using SPSS
  • Office Coordinator:
    • Overseeing day-to-day operations
    • Ordering Supplies
    • Coordinating with vendors and building staff
    • Assisting the director and staff
    • Performing payroll
    • Balancing bank accounts
  • Intake Coordinator:
    • Assist with phones/conducting intakes for new patients
    • Assist with scheduling current and new clients
    • Help with billing procedures and electronic medical record
  • Marketing:
    • Advertise practice via physical mailers and online
    • Sending Email Newsletters to Listserv
    • Updating Referral Lists
  • Training
    • Assist with creating and marketing workshops
    • Enroll participants in workshops
    • Oversee training opportunities onsite and offsite
  • Website
    • Manage and update content on website
    • Social Media Updates (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn)
