Call for submissions: fMRI Writing Prize!

The JHU Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences & The Hopkins Review in The Writing Seminars at JHU are hosting a flash fiction contest for Baltimore writers and seeking submissions!

We know literature can resonate, illuminate, and entertain—but stories can also help scientists understand our brains better, particularly how we construct and retrieve memories. This contest aims to create new literature and new science, while generating awareness of and interest in both fields in the city of Baltimore. Stories selected through this contest will be published by The Hopkins Review and used as the basis of a new study of readers’ brain activity using fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging). See how your words affect readers!
