The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences is affiliated with two diverse training programs supported by the Center for Hearing and Balance and the National Institute on Aging.
Center for Hearing and Balance Training Program
The Center for Hearing and Balance (CHB) works on topics ranging from molecular biology of sensory development and differentiation, to behavioral and clinical studies of normal and disrupted function. The Center holds a T32 training grant from the National Institute for Deafness and other Communication Disorders (NIDCD).
Aging and Dementia Training Program
The Training Program in Age-Related Cognitive Disorders supports training opportunities for pre-doctoral and post-doctoral fellows that encompass a wide range of topics, including age-related changes in cognition in model systems, as well as biomarker and clinical studies of aging and age-related neurodegenerative disorders. The program brings together faculty from multiple schools across Johns Hopkins, aiming to address the critical need for researchers who can further understanding of age-related cognitive decline, and improve early diagnosis and treatments for the major neurodegenerative diseases related to aging. A T32 grant from the National Institute on Aging provides stipends and research related expenses for trainees.
